Death Railway

The Death Railway in Kanchanaburi

This railway was built during World War II in 16 months between 1942 and 1943. Built by the Japanese occupier, it was meant to connect Thailand to Burma for supplies. It was originally called Thailand-Burma Railway but was later renamed Death Ralleway because it was built by soldiers who were prisoners of the Japanese forces and many of them lost their lives working in horrible conditions.
This place has become a must in the history of the region, it is also very pleasant to reach the resort by taking the train from Bangkok or Kanchanaburi to enjoy a superb view and an experience like no other.
